VivaPix Connect

Watch a folder, get AI with it.

Every photo booth program writes its shots somewhere — into a folder. That is exactly where VivaPix hooks in: the folder is watched, every new shot goes through the AI, and the finished image lands next to it. Which software fills the folder makes no difference.

Nothing in the input folder is deleted, moved or altered. Those files belong to your software — the original is the one thing that cannot be recreated.

The folder watcher costs nothing. You pay for AI moments, from 0.18 € per image.

What your setup needs

  • Your photo booth software writes its shots into a folder — which one does not matter.
  • Chrome or Edge on a Windows or Mac machine. Firefox, Safari and phone browsers cannot open folders.
  • The machine has internet — for the upload and the result.

In the browser — no installation

For most setups this is the whole thing. No program, no Windows warning, no token to type out.

  1. 1

    Open the page

On the booth computer, open your booth's address — it is in the dashboard next to the event. Chrome or Edge, nothing else.

  2. 2

    Pick two folders

The folder your software writes into, and the one the AI images should go to. The browser asks for permission once — the page gets no rights beyond that.

  3. 3

    Leave the window open

As long as the window is open, the watching runs: new shot, AI image beside it, next. The page shows what it is doing — you can follow along all evening.

Or as a program — for continuous operation

The browser window has to stay open. If that does not suit — because the booth runs unattended or should start with Windows — take the small Windows program: the same sequence, the same two folders, but without a window and with autostart.

For dslrBooth there is a guide of its own, including the trigger address: Add AI to dslrBooth.

And what the whole evening looks like — with a tablet next to it where guests pick their own scene — is in the guide: Add AI to a photo booth you already own.

What the folder watcher does not do

  • It does not print

Your software keeps printing on its own. The AI image sits in the output folder — what happens to it there stays your setting.

  • It does not touch your software

No plugin, no setting, no intervention. The folder is what gets watched — your software never even notices VivaPix exists.

  • It does not collect offline

Without a connection there is no AI image — the transformation happens on our machines. Your booth's own shots are untouched by this.

Try it out

The folder watcher is free, in the browser and as a program. You only pay for the pictures that were actually transformed — failed attempts do not come off your balance.
