VivaPix Connect
Add AI to dslrBooth.
Your photo booth stays exactly as it is. A small program on the booth computer watches the folder dslrBooth writes its shots into, sends every new file through the AI and places the result in a second folder. No rebuild, no plugin, no different software.
Nothing in the input folder is deleted, moved or altered. Those files belong to dslrBooth — the original is the one thing that cannot be recreated.
The connector costs nothing. You pay for AI moments, from 0.18 € per image.
What your setup needs
- dslrBooth runs on Windows and writes its shots into a folder.
- The machine has internet — for the upload and the result.
- Nothing else. No particular dslrBooth version, no licence tier, no plugin.
Three steps to set up
All of it on setup day, not on the night. Two happen in the browser, one on the booth computer.
-
1
Create a device and assign it
In the dashboard, create a device, assign it to the event and issue a token — in that order. Without an assignment the server rejects every upload; that is deliberate, otherwise pictures end up in someone else's gallery.
-
2
Set up the connector
Once the token is issued, the finished configuration is on screen — with the address, the token and, where it is unambiguous, the event and the scene. Copy it, fill in the two folders, start. That page exists only once: we never show the token in plain text a second time.
-
3
Let dslrBooth tell it
Optional, but better: dslrBooth knows exactly when a shot is finished — otherwise the connector has to guess from the file size. Enter the address below in dslrBooth under Settings → Triggers.
In dslrBooth under Settings → Triggers
http://127.0.0.1:8787/hooks/dslrbooth?event_type=file_download¶m1=[file_name]
The receiver runs as soon as the connector runs, and listens on 127.0.0.1 only: a trigger comes from the same machine or not at all.
The folder is still watched regardless. If no trigger arrives — because nobody set it up, or because dslrBooth swallowed it — the watcher finds the file on its next pass. Nothing is processed twice; the fingerprint of the file content takes care of that.
It also works with no installation at all
For most setups the browser is enough: the same two folders, picked in the window, with no program and no token to type out. Chrome or Edge, two clicks, done.
The program remains for what a browser cannot do: run without a window open, start with Windows — and later drive the camera and the printer.
How the browser route works — for any other photo booth software too — is on Watch a photo booth folder.
What the connector does not do
-
It does not print
dslrBooth keeps printing on its own. The connector puts the AI image into the output folder — what happens to it there stays your setting.
-
It shows you where it stands
A window with the status and the pairing code that stays reachable after the start — change folder, switch party, pair again. Beside it he writes a log: if an evening went wrong, that log is the thing that answers the question the next morning.
-
It does not collect offline
Without a connection there is no AI image — the transformation happens on our machines. Your booth's own shots are untouched by this.
Try it out
The connector is free and the same for every setup. You only pay for the pictures that were actually transformed — failed attempts do not come off your balance.
